Suicide Bomber Devastates Press Club in Pakistan

The terrorist killed three people and injured 17, including several journalists, after he blew himself up when security guards tried to stop him from entering the establishment in the city of Peshawar.

Violence in Peshawar, in the northwestern corner of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, has intensified ever since the army started an offensive against the Taliban militias in that region.

The BBC:

"It was a suicide attack. The bomber wanted to enter the building. The police official at the gate stopped him and he blew himself up," AFP news agency quoted senior police official Karim Khan as saying.

"The guard room outside the gate was badly damaged. Three motorcycles parked inside the compound and one bus on the other side of the road were damaged."

He said almost all the windows of the Peshawar Press Club had been shattered.

Journalists in Pakistan have been targeted by militants on numerous occasions.

Hundreds of people, mostly innocent civilians, have died in several terrorist attacks in that part of the country, including a bomb explosion in a local market in October that took the lives of some 120 people.

We keep repeating the pen in mighty than the sward. Terrorists won't listen.
